Weekly Photo Challenge: The Hue of You

Rainbow Loom Fishtail

I love the color blue. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to this color. I like all different shades of blue, so much so that I even named not only this site but also my daughter after a different hue of blue.

Speaking of the little devil, she’s gone head over heels over the current craze that’s hitting playgrounds, schools, hobby shops and arts & craft stores all over the nation: rubber band bracelets, specifically the Rainbow Loom. She’s been making these rubber band bracelets without the loom and she’s quite good at it. But after searching for weeks for the blasted Rainbow Loom (Michael’s couldn’t keep these things in stock) and finally getting one for her and her friend, you’d swear she had hit the jackpot with her over-the-top (and hilarious) reaction.

The first bracelet made was specifically for me. She asked what color I wanted. The choice was obvious. She threw in the white to make it a little different. In minutes she had made her first bracelet using the loom – the fishtail. Now she looks at youtube videos and creates many more bracelets with intricate designs to gift to friends in the classroom.

So far, not a day go by that I don’t wear this special bracelet.

I have no choice: the girl inspects my wrist from time to time in surprise inspection drills…
