Weekly Photo Challenge: Regret

February 11, 2012

Sharing, a relatively new concept to a two-year old.

Several years ago when my daughter was a toddler, I used to take her to the park almost every day to play after work. On this particular day, I took her out to ride her new tricycle. This new tricycle attracted many other children in the park and they would often go up to her (quite boldly) and try to ride the trike. Being a teacher at the time and seeing a “teachable moment”, I asked my highly dubious two-year old to share her trike with another child.

As you can see from the photo, we BOTH regretted that decision!

There was a happy ending however…

All is right in the world

Never an easy lesson, but if you never learn it, you only regret it later… (no pun intended!)

Think my first attempt at a comment is in your spam bin! I don’t know what it is with wordpress…
Nice picture! It’s never an easy lesson, but if you don’t learn it when you’re young, you only regret it later on (no pun intended!!)

This would have been a perfect shot for the topic ‘MINE’ as well. Your daughter looks like a determined little pistol. She is soooooooooooooooooo cute!

Thanks Orples! She’s actually quite a shy little girl but assertive in her own passive-aggressive way.

That is the most heartbreaking ‘regretful’ moment for an adorable and cute child, LOL.
So glad there was a really happy ending….I love the smile in her eyes!

She’s adorable! :-) Life is full of lessons to learn. We cry, and we laugh. Hopefully she has learned the joy of sharing. Great post!

In these photos, your daughter reminded me of my now 3 yrs old granddaughter; she would be telling me quite adamantly: “No, I can’t like it”. LOL

    Nice post!

wow, that looks like it was tough.
maybe a momentary regret, yet but hopefully a seed was sown.
next time sharing might be just a bit easier – or not :)
